A Safe Home
Caring houseparents provide a safe, nurturing home environment during the time of pregnancy and for six weeks afterwards.
Complete Pregnancy Care
Each woman is provided complete prenatal, labor and delivery and postpartum care from qualified midwives and/or doctors.
Counseling
Pastoral and professional counseling is provided for each Mercy House resident to help resolve emotional and family issues. The decision to either parent her baby or place for adoption is facilitated by specially trained counselors to ensure that each woman makes a fully informed choice.
Life Skills Training
Through individual and group instruction, parenting skills, infant feeding, cooking, nutrition and exercise are taught and modeled by the Mercy House staff.
Spiritual Ministry
Strong emphasis is placed on each woman's involvement in a local church. Household devotions promote personal spiritual growth through systematic Bible study, discipleship and abstinence education.
General Education
Help is provided to women who need to secure a high school equivalence diploma. Countinuing education and developing new vocational skills are stressed as a way to improve the ability to maintain a self-supporting family.
Resource Families
Resource families willing to mentor a Mercy House resident provide emotional support and practical help both during her stay and after she is on her own.
